04/12/2025 2:30 pm
April 12, 2025 1:00pm – 2:30pm
Do you know that soil is much more than sand, silt and clay? Healthy soil is all about the relationship between plants and soil. In this talk UC Master Gardener Terry Lyngso will explain the components of soil, why plants need soil and why soil needs plants. She will also discuss best practices to maintain healthy soil in the garden and in raised beds.
UC Master Gardener Presenter Terry Lyngso: Terry is a lifelong gardener, a Master Composter, a UC Master Gardener, a student of the soil food web and a lover of the natural world. Her garden in Loma Mar is a waterwise native garden that she and her husband designed, planted and maintain. They also grow apples, herbs and vegetables. Terry is Board Chair of Lyngso Garden Materials, a 72-year-old family business located in San Carlos.
